Jon-a-Thon

So...my weakest drawings have always been of male portraits and I think you can obviously see why (I either end up with caricatures or effeminate males). My hope is to regain a lot of my technical drawing skills, especially for masculine subjects.

First Day's Sketches.

A brief, awful sketch. It's worse than it looks, because you don't know who it is.

Another bad one. Getting better. Perhaps by the end of the month I'll be drawing faces a well as I used to.

This was a plant on Heather's porch, which I drew two Sundays ago. It's still a good one, though. I'm looking at the difference between stipple and hatching in the text that is around it.

Battleship Texas

I thought I would start out with a bang and decided to drive to Houston to draw the USS Texas.

A Clown and A Juggler

OK group. I guess I'm going to be the first to go post. (That's post, not postal). Last year I started making articulated paper art dolls. I'm currently working on a series of "vintage carnival" characters. Today I sketched ideas for two new ones: a clown and a juggler. (These aren't the actual dolls, just sketches of what I want to do. Does the doll creation process count as an "everyday" too?)
